Fitur anti air Icom V88
Keunggulan Icom V88 di IP67 yang anti air bahkan sudah diuji coba terendam air di kedalaman 1 meterselama 30 menit. Karena dengan fitur tersebut pengguna tidak perlu kuatir apabila HT kena air hujan atau kebasahan, asal jangan lupa selalu memeriksa untuk mengencangkan konektor antenna, tutup baterai, serta tidak menggunakan mic dan sekrup untuk bagian mic dikencangkan.

Pilih yang mana?
Kembali disesuaikan menurut kebutuhan, apabila penggunaan HT lebih sering digunakan didaerah sering hujan atau resiko terkena basah bisa memilih Icom V88. Apabila sering digunakan didalam ruangan ataupun diluar ruangan namun masih sempat untuk melindungi HT dari basah, misalnya saat hujan bisa ditaruh di pos jaga atau ditempat terlindungi bisa memilih Icom V80.
Namun bukan berarti Icom V80 tidak bisa digunakan diluar ruangan, biarpun tidak seperti Icom V88 yang terlindungi air dengan sangat rapat, Icom V80 masih terlindungi air asal hanya terciprat air atau awal-awal turunnya hujan.
Karena kapasitas baterainya yang lebih besar maka Icom V80 sering menjadi pilihan untuk digunakan sehari-hari. Sedangkan Icom V88 sering digunakan oleh orang yang memiliki mobilitas dilapangan. Namun jangan lupa memperhatikan jarak jangkau HT agar tetap bisa laing berkomunikasi.
Harga
Untuk harga sendiri HT Icom V88 lebih mahal daripada Icom V80, dikarenakan IP67 yang dimiliki Icom V88.
